Oh yeah, I'll watch the shit out of Jason X, don't worry. And I can def live with that because they didn't really start digging into the supernatural stuff until 5 and 6.
But yeah, the Nightmare movies were in on the joke a lot sooner than the F13 movies and were a lot better at fanservice

what are the good F13 movies to you? I really started glazing over everything once they introduced Tommy Jarvis in like 4-5 and all that nonsense lore because they wanted Jason to be Micheal Myers 2

i think its partly because if youve seen one halloween movie you've seen them all, because it doesnt play with the formula very much compared to f13 or nightmare, nightmare has all the increasingly wild dream stuff and f13 just decides to have fun with it

i like the first halloween movie and the 3rd one (yes, the goofy ass one) but yeah i dont generally like watching the other halloween for some reason. at least F13 gets super whacky in the later ones, i love jason X despite how goddamn stupid it is

Ohhh, this got me excited. I've been stepping in and out of news on the production of the show since I first heard about it (Been a F13 head since tne early 2000s, so it's been an interest of mine that pops up every now and then). Excited to give it a look once it comes out :D

I watched F13 Part VIII 2 days ago. I'm not sure how many more there are, this one was from 1989. I know at some point there is a Freddy vs. Jason, so I'll start on the Elm St. movies this weekend.

F13-2 is a much more technically impressive film than the original I think. If it hadn't been so heavily butchered by the MPAA, I think it could rival 3 and 4.

Colorful and unafraid to be the sleaziest, most lizard-brained version of F13. The biggest body count, the most nudity, all of what you expect in a slasher dialed up to 11.

5 has grown on me. For a long time, I hated it for its shallower-than-usual characters and goofy atmosphere. But I've grown to appreciate it as this mad, cocaine-fueled piece of camp. It's F13 being the most absurd version of everything its critics says it is.

I feel F13-1 gets a bad rep. It's often called a Halloween clone - which it is - but it's filled with a tense atmosphere and brutal gore. I love it.

The only two F13 films I recall seeing in the theater (maybe saw others but went 'meh' and forgot) were 8 and X. By 8 they had clearly stopped taking any of it seriously and I was just there for the bloody yuks.
