The most heartbreaking take on that I've heard is that they aren't real pearls, they're fakes she was given when she/they weren't well off and she treasured them out of sentimentality.

Fakes always have something about them that flags the fake. In this case it would be HIPAA. In this day and age of HIPAA what clinic is going to answer any question about who their clients are.

not discounting the other points, but this is two guys obsessed with making a game where you could talk to the computer. now there's an easily accessible chat robot to hook into stuff that fakes it ok. old dreams buried in years of compromises returned from the grave and they came back wrong

When I graduated economics in the '80s I worked for a #resale shop doing research on things that were brought in before they were turned over to the #Antique store. so I learned a whole lot about spotting marks and fakes. Old furniture in Michigan is abundant so is beautiful glass #AntiquesRoadshow

This is the reason I quit Facebook in 2015. I kept getting trollposts about Trump and Hillary. I started checking out 100s of profiles. Nearly all of them were only a couple months old. A single profile photo, no relationships, no spouse, no kids, no occupation. They were ALL fakes so I bailed.
