I wonder what social media would be like if people were taught in k-12 school to name and identify logical fallacies

Please don’t pretend like your country isn’t capable of terrible things. That’s one of the biggest fallacies that leads countries down a dark path: thinking “it can’t happen here.”
Canadian here. Be thankful you live in Norway. Living next door to America these days is like having a downstairs neighbour that is running a crack den.

It is ALWAYS a good time to review the Geek Social Fallacies. Teach them to the young that they may live better than you did.
I'm watching The Most Parasocial Behavior happen on an FB group. I think nerdy-type celebrities get it the worst because you get excited folks with a common interest who are already inclined towards neurodivergence so you get the Geek Social Fallacies. plausiblydeniable.com/five-geek-so...

An entire genre of discourse built on fallacies of composition.
The Democrats defend the Kennedy Center but not trans people.

“surely no one would ever try to assassinate OUR heads of state just because we assassinated THEIR heads of state,” they think, thus perpetuating one of the great repeating fallacies of world history
So we're just assasinating heads of state now? I'm sure there will be no consequences to this

I guess "All Things Considered" now means "fallacies as well as truths".
My explanation of how climate change is amplifying these wildfires ended up entirely on the @npr.org cutting room floor.

Instead they included an extremely misleading of the supposed role of fire suppression and human alteration (expertly debunked here: www.theclimatebrink.com/p/canadas-bo... )
I’m will be on @npr.org All Things Considered this afternoon talking a about the new @nationalacademies.org climate change/extreme weather report and the current wildfires and apocalyptic haze

USA Today chooses submoronic, half-baked shards of transitive fallacies to present in its coverage. Is it a pivot to raw idiocy?

One of the great political campaign fallacies is that someone with no experience is a worse choice than someone who has a lot of experience and has royally fucked up
Cuomo acted out a mock job interview between Mamdani and a recruiter.

“‘Hello, I’m applying for the job of the mayor of the City of New York.’ ‘OK, do you have management experience?’ ‘No.’ ‘Have you managed 100 people before?’ ‘No.’"
