#familydoc
I was on 3 different media calls today:

This morning, live on @fox10phoenix.bsky.social discussing the disaster in Washington DC and plane crash survivability.

At 12, CBS Radio discussing Direct Primary Care.

At 1 (for 6pm) with @abc15.com about #RFKJr potential confirmation at HHS.

As a #familydoc I am more sickened by this country every day - taking food literally from the mouths of children, making hard-working adults do impossible math around healthcare costs, ripping families apart based on their complexion or accent… #universalhealthcare #demsocialism #capitalismkills

I just told my #FamilyDoc that I feel a little bit guilty that I’ve left primary care.

Because (at least until it gets burnt to the ground) I’ve found a place where I do meaningful work that matters, with a good schedule and pretty good compensation…AND it’s not soul-sucking #AddictionMedicine
Healthcare is a double edged sword. It's reliable work and pays pretty well but the hours can suck and it eats away at your soul.

‘We’re not treating #pain. We are treating people IN PAIN.’

Starting the week with the Biopsychosocial Model…and they were shocked that 3-4 of us raised our hand to say this was part of our formal training (they thought that was HIGH…). Is the #FamilyDoc privilege??

I’m a fan of mattresses on the floor for little ones - no need for them to fall out of bed. Also it makes it easier for the dogs to snuggle them. #FamilyDoc

oy vey today was a very adolescent-themed clinic and it makes me feel (a) very happy I am a #familydoc who can do well child checks and LARCs and behavioral health and (b) very happy I do not only see adolescents all day every day because I feel tired and inadequate ;-)

Revit Crashes When Using OpenDocumentFile() for RFA Files
I’m experiencing a **Revit crash** when trying to load a .rfa file using the Application.OpenDocumentFile() method in **Revit 2025** and **Revit 2026**. The same code works perfectly in **Revit 2021–2024** without any issues. var doc = app.ActiveUIDocument.Document; var familyDoc = app.Application.OpenDocumentFile(rfaFileName); using (TransactionGroup transactionGroup = new TransactionGroup(doc)) { if (transactionGroup.Start("Import lookup table") == TransactionStatus.Started) { if (!ImportLookup(familyDoc, lookUpFileNames, resultStatus)) { resultStatus.Status = ResultStatusFlag.Warning; resultStatus.WarningMessage += "Could not import lookup table.\n"; } if (transactionGroup.Assimilate() != TransactionStatus.Committed) { transactionGroup.RollBack(); } familyDoc.Close(); } } **What Happens:** When this line executes: var familyDoc = app.Application.OpenDocumentFile(rfaFileName); Revit 2025 or 2026 **immediately crashes,**  no exception is thrown, and nothing is caught in the Revit log except a generic access violation. **Environment:** * Revit 2025 / Revit 2026 * .NET 9.0 windows * External Add-In built using **Revit API 2025 and 2026 SDK** * Windows 11 x64 * Works fine in Revit 2021–2024 **Questions:** 1. Has anyone else encountered this crash in Revit 2025 or 2026 when using OpenDocumentFile()? 2. Did Autodesk change the behavior for opening .rfa files in API context? 3. Is there a recommended alternative API call for safely loading .rfa files (for example, in a headless or background mode)? The goal is to import lookup tables into family files programmatically and then close them; this has been stable since Revit 2021.

I'm an American Jew from an immigrant family. My great-grandparents perished in the Holocaust. I'm a #familydoc who believes that #NoOneIsIllegal, #HealthCareIsAHumanRight, & #BlackLivesMatter. I vote, I advocate, and sometimes I protest in the streets. #AmIDisloyal?

I object to the erasure of family physicians in this consent form, because many people who are planning pregnancy, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding have a #familydoc taking care of them. (Still incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to schedule my vaccine!) #YayScience!
