the idea of fandoms needing to be fed consistently and stay "alive" by the people responsible for servicing it (i.e. developers/creators) seems a bit silly. people don't really have this mentality in most fandoms so why assume the responsibility lies on the creators

In my opinion ALL fandoms are bad because the internet, by design, enables all sorts of zealotry and narcissism.

fandoms exist because the people gathering there resonate with something and bond over it. maintaining that bond and semblance of community is a lot more reliant on looking after one another and embracing the strengths/qualities
