I imagine that Soap's death still haunts Price and considering how he's doing, I wouldn't be surprised if he actually hallucinated him.

Animation test! Looking good so far, I've spent the last 7 and a half hours finagling with effects, and I'll be setting the whole 30 seconds to render as soon as I hit post :) Those will be ready on Monday assuming Blender doesn't crash!

Glitter's a little twitchier than I want it to be, but I've made adjustments to it (plus a few other things) that will be ready to go on Friday! :)

I made changes lol

Not because I wanted to, but because Blender 5.0 did something that made the alpha channels screwy. But it's done! Cinta has her pretty sword in the forest glittering with magic :3

Sila's was more dynamic but I really like this 💜

A 3D rendering of a sword covered in vines, set in a stone in the woods, surrounded by pine trees and grasses. Purple haze fills the woods. Beams of light break through the canopy, one of which illuminates the sword.

Progress! The transparency isn't animating how I want it to, but that's okay. I've poked a whole bunch of things while going "oooooh what does THIS button do?! :D" and I *think* I've got it figured out!

We'll find out together on Wednesday :)

I done goofed and set the maximum render time per frame as 2.5 seconds instead of minutes, and, uh, it's bad. Like, yikes bad 😬 I won't subject y'all to that.

The good news is, I think I fixed the rocks-clipping-through-trees problem! :D

To prep for the imminent arrival of my new 'puter (next payday + shipping), I rendered out Cinta's sword at full size and the default 4096 samples.

Y'all.

It took over eight and a half hours.

Can't wait to see how fast the new machine does it! :D

Almost done! One more test render, and unless something needs fixing, this should be the last scene tweak I can do with this computer. Those results will be up on Wednesday :)

The rest will have to wait til I get my new computer. Hopefully soon 🤞🏼

There we go, that's much better than the other night. Only ten seconds this time, but it showed me some more tweaks I want to make!

Part of me wants to wait to get my new computer before I finish this. The rest of me isn't that patient...

(╯°□°）╯✨🌈✨GLITTER✨🌈✨

Did a lot more work on this today, so I'll let that render out to be ready on Monday :)

Just a few more things to do, mostly refinement work, and then I'm done! :D :D :D

Back to making progress on this baby! Tweaked the magic ribbons and grass distribution, added camera movement, and now I'm working on making those vines around the sword look how I want them to :3

So some of the work I did on Saturday was Even More Glitter™ and it looks more like static than, ya know, glitter, so I've tried to fix that and will be re-rendering. Also some other changes that y'all will see on Wednesday :D

I DID IT!!!

Not done refining and I have more effects to add to really get the feel of Cinta's magic, but I got the hardest part down! :D

AND IT LOOKS SO GOOD I'M SO HAPPY AAAAAAA :D :D :D

*ahem* Ten second animation test coming tomorrow!

PERFECT!

Now I just need a computer that won't need to run 24 hours a day for over a week to render this at a decent resolution :P

Friday I find out if I can finance my new computer or if I have to wait until I can pay 100% out of pocket!

SOONish 👀

Yet! More! Subtle differences! *celebratory kazoo noises*

Anyway I want to keep poking around in the shader network for the ribbons so I can get shorter visible segments. Some of them are getting way longer than I want. Or overlapping. Or both.
