"Zoe Strimpel" definitely lives on a small farmsteading near Drumlin's Fell

I think it's that but everyone's into farmsteading in another world

In farmsteading news,I brought four buff orpington hens in to keep Disco Roo company, as he’s been lonely and I didn’t want him braving the winter alone in the coop.
They arrived Sunday, found my first egg this afternoon!
They are also each about three times his size, so he’s still giving them space

I understand we're in a time when every ism in society is prime for revision, but stuff like bathing and farmsteading being our "natural state".... I'm pretty sure we spent all of human history trying to find ways to fix this problem! Why are you now saying "actually that was better"

Farmers live on the outskirts – and yes, while they would need sufficient room for crops and farmsteading, and they would also require shaded areas to maintain sensitive crops out of the near-constant light of Beledar –

Eggs near me are between $6-9 a dozen, so instead of lining the pockets of Kroger, I'm driving out to the country to buy fresh eggs and fresh sourdough bread from my farmsteading cousin.
Because yes, I'd rather line her pockets.

Worth looking at compound/farmsteading projects by neo-Nazi groups that are heavily informed by conspiracy theory and esotericism, such as The Order:

I have farmsteading skills, thanks to poverty I can whip up a meal out of nothing, and have backcountry skills thanks to backpacking and mountaineering.
Repost with your best apocalypse skill.

I'm a trauma nurse and a blacksmith. I can fix it.

It's uh, kinda a problem. Mega influencers with media budgets worth more than the plot of land you just bought are pushing the whole homesteading / farmsteading movement and showing the pretty side of things and not what an actual farm looks like or how it operates

Makes sense.

We're mointain farmsteading, hence rocks are ubiquitous, too.

Trying hard to put my creative pants on while also feeling unmoored in a surreal landscape. Finding the right or proactive actions seems impossible. Thank goodness for physical labor, as that's the only thing that has made me feel like I'm accomplishing anything.

But maybe like a farmsteading co-operative or something?

Just don't call it a commune, or the creeps will swarm.

Nope, farmsteading is a specific term. I'm not a farmsteader. I do agroforestry/rewilding.

I would have made an amazing tradwife if I could just stomach any amount of fascism. Alas, being raised jewish is extremely antithetical to that (ymmv but overall incompatible. Bad experiences....) so instead I do my pretend farmsteading without a weird political ethos.

Farmsteading and homesteading carry significant financial, physical, and time risks. Crop failures, sudden veterinary expenses, and the relentless 24/7 nature of livestock care can easily lead to burnout and financial loss.

Personally I'm literally two generations away from basically indentured servitude and small-scale farmsteading, so idk I'm just real glad we've got free universal schooling in this country. Anyway. Happy womens day y'all. 🫡✊️
