Because I am in Sheffield at the moment. I'll have a look next time I'm in London. Have you tried renting a Lime bike and riding through that junction along the Farringdon Road from the north? With a bus behind you? I could navigate it safely because I have been cycling in traffic for decades.

Where Farringdon Road crosses Cowcross St and Greville Street? Looking at it in Google maps, there's a separated bike lane coming from the north that dead ends into 2 bus stops, then truncated zigzag stop markers and no labelled bike box at the junction. That's a real mess.

I regularly get e-tickets to travel up to Farringdon, where the barriers only accept contactless (and paper tickets, obvs). The staff are used to letting me through once I show them my ticket.
