What time is it? It’s #Cheliceratime!
For today's #febugary, we're taking a look at one the most studied lynx spider in the world, Peucetia viridans!

All the basic infos are here but if you want to learn more there’s more below!⬇️

#spider #arachnid #sciart #bugsky #invert

1/4

One of the most well-known lynx spiders, this species is well documented in North & Central America. It’s an efficient hunter, capable of catching fast prey thanks to good hunting strategy & spines on its legs.

Size: around 15 mm in length
Time period: Holocene (present day)
Conservation status: Least concern/Near Threatened

The animal drawn is a green spider with long thin legs covered by many spines

I'll do a few post of the Febugary on Instagram, and for the first I choosed Afrarchaea woodae, an endangered spider!

All the basic infos are here but if you want to learn more there’s more below!⬇️

1/3

Known from southeastern South Africa, this species is among the several threatened african pelican/assassin spiders. Like all species of this genus, females carry the egg sac attached to their fourth pair of legs.

Size: around 5mm in length
Time period: Holocene (present day)
Conservation status: Endangered

The animal drawn is a spider on lateral view, with its first body part highly raised in the eyes area & with long chelicerae, making it almost look a bit like a pelican. It also has a mushy sac on its last leg, which is the egg sac

Did the FeBUGary drawing challenge over on IG where I kind of deviated and drew warriors based on bugs. I might post some here, but I wrapped it up with this 'Beetle Warrior' drawing for a weekly drawing challenge.

A drawing of a battle scene between a bird and a beetle. The bird, mostly in silhouette, is swooping down at a beetle, who is standing upright and holding a glowing sword.

I made this comic introducing Febugary to the world.
For those who don't know, I created a challenge like inktober but with no pressure and about bugs!

Febugary zine is finally here!! This A5-sized zine includes the 28 drawings I made during Febugary 2026. It also includes some extra drawings, a brief description of each species, and a small map showing their distribution area.
