Carolyn Hax is the superior advice columnist, as evidenced by her reply to a person grieving their beloved dog, and by sharing that her last pet was named Augie-dogdog.
I've been trying to focus on the many, many good and happy times we had, but I find myself obsessing over things I wish I'd done differently and guilt over times I got frustrated with her. Ikeep thinking, "Was she happy? Did she know how much we love her?" even though all evidence points to yes. I'm told the only way to get through grief is to go through it, but how do I do this? I hate it, and I miss my dog so, so much. Carolyn says: How do you do this, you ask? Like this. You feelsad and second-guess your decisions and obsess over your mistakes and miss her so ter-ribly. You suffer. That's really it. There are so many shortcuts out there and life hacks and solutions, so many distractions and plea sures - but to be human and to care means you eventually reach a point where loss finds you and there's no way out of it except to feel it all. Bigger love, bigger grief. I am so sorry. If it's of any consolation, I was in your place only five months before you, after losing my Auggie-dogdog, so nothing I say to you is abstract. What you're going through is familiar and gutting and real, right down to the weirdly empty house with no sound of clicking toes. It's also normal, I can report first-hand, for time to help you with the worst of it. If you're feeling all this heavy evidence of how much you still care, then I think it's safe to say you did everything you could, she was happy, she knew.

As I mentioned on my main account, my feelsad of yesterday evolved into full blown depression episode this morning. Thankfully I feel a bit better now.

I still get horribly anxious just working on rigging for more than 5 minutes at a time, I still don't know how to handle that.
Also, tonight is a feelsad-night. I took a xanax for the first time, I am not sure I feel the effect, but I did not cry so it probably worked.

Yes I read that fic (my comment might have been as midnight moth cause I’m lazy to switch profiles) and it made me feelsad but also seen. (I didn’t kill anyone but I do have ptsd) I don’t know if ive read non angst from you yet? (I have a bad memory)
