I only have found it useful to distinguish "people who are affected by transmisogyny" from "trans women" when I was arguing with some trans masc folks. They insisted that spending childhood and young adult life navigating the expectations of feminity gave them a partucluar entitlement to talk about

As a kid it was a lot of “but you’re such a pretty girl, you’d look so lovely in a dress” but that felt like more enforcing of feminity or removal of agency rather than demonisation of masculinity.

I'm not going to pretend it isn't disfiguring for transmascs because it is but the way that our society constructs feminity makes it much harder for trans women who have gone through the wrong pubertyto meet the standards of femininity. Masculinity is the assumed default

Has that attraction ever defined my role in society, put me in danger, or given me common cause with others on the margins of society? Certainly not.

I did not like stereotypical girly things, simply because it wasn't my cup of tea, but since it was drilled in my head over and over, that the boys got to do all the cool stuff and girls were only allowed to experience it too when they rejected feminity, I obviously rejected it too.
