Got recommended Fexofenadine anti-histamine in the comments of this post and it has been amazing. The trees explode with pollen soon as it rains after sunny days, which usually put on stilettos and stomp all over my eyeballs. Not been bothered at all since taking fexofenadine. Thank you!

For all the papers that follow, cetirizine and loratidine, 1x (maximum approved daily) dose is 10mg; for levocetirizine and desloratidine, 1x dose is 5mg; for fexofenadine, 1x dose is 360mg (I hate doing the calculations for fexofenadine because it's Weird, sigh.)

Every few years I rotate one of the first two out and replace it with another OTC, but I've been procrastinating because next up is fexofenadine and I haaaaaaate fexofenadine, it's stupid and I metabolize it weirdly so it throws off my entire freaking drug schedule

--get better benefits from using two H1s together (cetirizine + loratidine, levocetirizine + fexofenadine, fexofenadine + loratidine, etc), either taken at the same time or on a 12h offset, than they do doubling the dose of the H1 they're already taking.

I'm down to four days of my fexofenadine.
And that's just cetirizine ! All three major OTC second generation h1 antihistamines (cetirizine, loratidine, fexofenadine) have ample evidence of updose safety! Like, that 4x updose maximum with cardiac screening is the *conservative* recommendation.

Also, if you go back to getting flattened by the COVID vax: 50mg diphenhydramine 15 minutes before or 20mg cetirizine/loratidine or 360mg fexofenadine 2-3 hours before the shot reduces the terrible side effects for most people and doesn't fuck with the vaccine efficacy!

But unless you have an allergy to cetirizine or loratidine, I'd suggest doing fexofenadine + cetirizine or fexofenadine + loratidine every 24 hours before doubling your fexofenadine dose, because we don't have as much data on fexofenadine at higher doses as we do cetirizine or loratidine
