You only ever have to use math if the rules that world goes by are incomplete (such as ffd20, the formulas for the spells aren't actually implemented in the version I played)
Now, if you're making your own modules or porting a game's rules to work in Foundry, then yeah there's some code.

My first OC Ervahna (who has had drastic errata's applied to her) was and is a DRG main. I am of the opinion DRG is the quintessential Final Fantasy job. Okina, my current main OC, ended her FFd20 Campaign as a PLD. My OC job choice is usually lore based, so they only get a few at most usually.

An idea i had when i first played FF9 i fell in love with the Burmecians and i always wanted an OC of one. The idea i came up with was a former dragoon who became a Dark Knight. In FFd20 is a whole archetype around this---so here is that idea on paper!

For context: I run an FFd20 game on sundays in my discord server, a player just had to drop due to his work schedule, and I enjoy running for groups of six.
The party's pretty solid in terms of combat damage thanks to some homebrew, but they're very weak at range and in terms of skill utility.
