I say this as someone who almost entirely covers old fighting games, the worst fighting game today is still a more functioning well made game than like 90% of fighting games that came out in the 90s.
You kids got it so good now in the fgc. Back in my day a huge chunk of fighting games on store shelves were made by people who never played a fighting game before.
Now every new fighting game has polish, patches, and is playable. We haven't seen a truly "trash" game in decades.
