Now watching: Ang Babaeng Humayo

omg this movie is 3 hours and 48 minutes long?
this is the *shortest* Lav Diaz film I've ever seen

This is more of a melodrama than a horror film. Even when the #vampires are on the screen, there are no scares. The aesthetic is garish, not helped by the primary colour lighting. #HorrorMovies #FilipinoHorror #FilipinoCinema #HorrorCinema #VampireFilm #ClassicHorror #GothicHorror #BMovie

current mood: Oh my god this has been *great* so far please please please stick the landing I really want this movie to be good all the way through

it almost seems like we're approaching a "modern" adaptation of the Book of Job as a comedy

#FilipinoCinema

Even if this movie doesn't stick the landing, it is still one of the funniest comedies I've seen in a long time, my goodness

the mix of absurdist humor with commentary on Christian values in Filipino culture

and how that affects people's relationship with money, success, power

'Sampung Utos Kay Josh'
Clap clap
That
was amazing

It was absurd, stupid, cheesy, hilarious, heartful...
I can't wait to watch this movie again some time

I'd say it stuck the landing
a portion of the film before the ending had a lil lull, but other than that it was funny throughout #FilipinoCinema

I've watched Norte sa Hangganan ng Kasaysayan, which was 3 hours and 50 minutes

and I couldn't believe it was really that slow

then Mula Sa Kung Ano Ang Noon, 5 hours and 38 minutes

but this time I was prepared!
(and I feeeel like Mula has more things happening in it than Norte?)
