may they have all the success lavoy finicum had

They're comparing it to the law enforcement killing of LaVoy Finicum, which is interesting because Finicum had a loaded handgun on him.

That said, the shooting of Finicum was not justified either, the feds suck.

Feds still shot Finicum dead tho

I'll never forget watching them take out Lavoy Finicum on a livestream

To add to this point, after Lavoy Finicum almost plowed his car into an FBI agent and then reached for a gun while yelling “shoot me,” it fueled (and fuels) so much rage in the far right, despite it being captured on video.
When FBI agents killed white separatist Vicki Weaver while trying to take her criming husband into custody, it fueled the anti-government militia movement that formed one tributary into today's MAGA right, which is shrugging off today's state murder of Renee Good.

A plank of the not-crank coalition needs to be centered around these people being given the same choice lavoy finicum was posed with
They’re not workaholics. They’re occupying these offices like a Bundy militia and are worried that if they leave to do normal things like sleep or eat they will be barred from re-entry.
DOGE cut off payments for the electricity, cell phone, and internet service of U.S. government employees who work in a high-risk area in Central America.

Meanwhile, DOGE apparently plans to spend $25,000 to install a washer and dryer for their own personal use in a federal office building in DC.

Finicum? Isn't that what a cowboy says before they're about to nut?

LaVoy Finicum, I think his name was. A dumbass who went looking for trouble and found it.

I wrote about how the people who mourn Vicki Weaver and Lavoy Finicum are not, for the most part, mourning Renee Good or Alex Pretti.

That reminds me: Finicum was killed ACTUALLY ramming a police roadblock, and they still didn't light up everyone in the car. In fact he practically had to make the cops shoot him finally going for his gun on camera. Interesting who merits restraint and who doesn't. bsky.app/profile/dore...
It didn't work out too well for Lavoy Finicum
This is precisely the story I've been thinking about all day, and how these fascists launched this occupation after successfully standing down the federal government in a case with the Bureau of Land Management where they were in the wrong, but a Democratic admin caved because they were armed.

For some reason (1) the FBI has given a medal to the officers who shot Lavoy Finicum nearly 10 years ago, (2) telling a story that he rammed an FBI vehicle (he did not), (3) pinning an agent underneath it (not true). 🧐

I understand the broader point. But at least one was killed, and he became a martyr-figure. Excellent reporting here:

When LaVoy Finicum was shot by law enforcement, the anti-government movement called him a martyr. That message is spreading.

I understand the reasoning behind their, like, loose noose strategy - resolve the matter with minimum blood because very few of the enemy actually wanna do something hard; they wanna LARP the Civil War

But damn I wish they'd prosecuted more of those fucks

Glad Finicum got got

This is stunning actually. I would not have expected this under Patel’s leadership. (H/t @terry_sayles—sorry the article is behind a paywall) Finicum was shot on his way to John Day during the 2016 occupation of the Malheur Refuge.
