A few months ago, the library suffered a leak of water pouring in and then the steam valves malfunctioned, creating a tropical sauna reaching 118 F. Students called the fire dept thinking it was a fire, b/c why else so hot. Staff rushed to save manuscripts. Deferred maintenance did this.
