A digital artwork inspired by Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss. In the pose of the couple are Thomas Hamilton and James McGraw (Flint) from Black Sails. Thomas towers over a kneeling James, gently holding his face in his hands and pressing a kiss to his cheek, while James has one arm slung around Thomas’ neck and the other hand holding on to his arm. Their eyes are closed. Thomas is wearing a wraith of laurel. His body is a bright golden shape filled with rectangles in shades of red, blue and brown, lined up like on bookshelves. James arm and and chest are draped in a while shirt, leaving his shoulder bare, and the shape of a surrealist version of his uniform coat is draped around him, silver adornments dissolving into swirling shapes. His legs and feet are also bare and he’s kneeling on a carpet of wildflowers, which creep up along the lining of the coat as well. A similar artwork, but with the roles reversed so that Thomas is the one kneeling, while James is holding his face and kissing the top of his head. Thomas has one arm sneaking around James’ waist and one reaching up so he is clinging to his shoulder, his face pressed into James. Once more their eyes are closed. James hair and beard resemble Flint’s, and there is a wreath of lavender resting on his head. His body has the silhouette of his long black coat, but it’s filled with shapes of gold ingots and coins and a dagger. Thomas’ body is a greyish white shift, covered in red splashes that have golden centres, and which shift into blood flowers of the same colour on the dark floor around him. In between those grow large white lilies as well. Behind them is a similar light shape, with golden lines of waves, and the rest of the background is a very dark gold, almost brown.
