Terrific #FluteChoir rehearsal this evening! Our large group has dwindled due to pandemic, age, graduation, retirement, moving... but our tiny few remaining peeps are committed and energetic which is EveryThing.

This is amazing!!!

Flute master @calicocorsair.bsky.social brings one of her signature flute choir arrangements to Chambers of Time, the end-game track First Festival of Stars. Her combo of flutes and percussion evokes the game's joyous ending festival!

“Dance of the Lonely Doll” by composer Joseph Saenz. I made sure to include a flute, a quetzal (he is Guatemalan descent), sheet music, & his name. You can see my process sketches, & a pic of when we were babies in the college band. 👶🏻👶🏼

I had so much fun presenting Flexing the Canon #chambermusic project at the Mid-Atlantic Flute Convention this weekend! Huge thanks to #flutist Lisa Cella & #cellist Katie McCarthy

Ceylon Mitchell's #flutechoir sounded wonderful, as did Lisa Cella & Iva Ugrcic on their solo #classicalmusic recitals

No big deal … gaah! Just completely redoing a flute choir program because suddenly several absences have been scheduled. Fine. We’ll just have a couple of performances by smaller groups from within the larger gang. I like it!! #FluteChoir

I just spent so long staring at a syncopation and writing out the subdivisions so I could *see* it that I am exhausted. Also I now know those two measures better than the rest of the piece. #conducting #flutechoir

well if it isn’t 1 of the best arrangements of a Steddie soundtrack staple

Expected a mess of a rehearsal due to awkward absences and instead got a huge boatload of progress! I couldn’t call out ‘that’s perfect!’ over their playing enough!! This is the most amazing group of flutes ever. I give one direction and they do it better each time. #AFC #FluteChoir #Ensemble

The world and week can both suck… but the lovely enthusiastic people of my #flutechoir give me hope once again. It was time to end our rehearsal so I stopped / dismissed as I do. And they were all “But we want to finish this piece and we have questions about the other one.” #RespectTheClock #Flute

In other news, one of my scanned scores for an upcoming #FluteChoir rehearsal is missing a page. Not only can we not find the missing page, but the librarian can not find the paper score from which it was scanned. #GoodTimes
