It’s pollen season/my favorite time of year to loudly remind everyone that 1) nasal corticosteroid sprays are *by far* the best treatment for chronic hayfever and pills like allegra are recommended second-line and 2) there’s a nifty research review comparing different allergy nasal sprays

the act of taking this photograph necessitated one (1) dose of fluticasone propionate nasal spray
it's Bepis... my cat... he's... he's too handsome... damn...

I appear to have burned my tongue with my fluticasone inhaler because I have never used an inhaler before
April 4, 2025 at 10:07 PM
*reading the post* huh cetirizine, famotodine, and fluticasone are all part of my daily routine and wouldn't you know, I've never (to my knowledge) caught COVID

(granted, that med routine was not established until after the peak of COVID, but still...hmm)

Fascinating:

It’s fluticasone propionate (Flonase) powder in 30 blister packs that rotate open along a circular inhaler pack:

I’m supposed to rinse my mouth thoroughly after using it.

We are *well* above 95th percentile of USA pop. in terms of # of meds I take. 😑

It's 6:30 and I'm still at work what am I family medicine? This is bullshit.
My voice sounds like I’ve been gargling gravel and I feel like I have spent the last 2 hours in a clothes dryer how is everybody else

When Aiden purrs during his fluticasone treatment for his asthma, the little flap that indicates a breath goes “flapaflapaflapa” and it makes me so happy

I have traumatic amnesia about that time but I just remembered the best part: the reason that inhaler was so expensive is that CVS had a policy that the only maintenance inhaler asthmatics were allowed to have was fluticasone. I'm allergic to fluticasone, to which the response was "that's too bad"

Wife asking me if I “knew for sure” that fluticasone would help her post-nasal drip or was “just guessing,” and never has my medical training as a general internist been more disrespected
January 29, 2025 at 12:35 AM
two dayquil one paxil one metoprolol some fluticasone and a puff of albuterol to start your day off normal and have you feeling normal and vibrating normally

If @costplusdrugs.com could negotiate an affordable price for just one of these inhalers (Asmanex HFA, Alvesco HFA, or fluticasone HFA), kids and individuals with disabilities would have access to life saving medication. 3/

big shoutout to my friends fluticasone, salmeterol, and albuterol, with a lifetime achievement award for le labo camphor balm, which is basically supercharged vicks vaporub

i love to try and introduce the AeroKat inhalation mask and chamber to my elderly asthmatic cat to administer his Fluticasone Propionate while on a video call with my sons' occupational therapist who insists they must have "goals" other than "be babies" while a roofing crew saws my patio in half

I’m doped up on two antihistamines: spray fluticasone (Flonase) in the morning, and loratadine (Claritin) in the evening. I am avoiding cetirizine (Zyrtec) until winter to rebuild a response.
July 7, 2026 at 10:29 PM
throwing antihistamines and fluticasone at the problem and the inside of my head is still fuzzy and leaking out my nose and it's so bad i can barely focus on a task without plugging myself up with tissues and wearing a mask overtop

I’ve bought asthma medicine (fluticasone) for my cat from a pharmacy in Canada. An inhaler was like $400 a month here without insurance, they sold it for like $30 with free shipping.
September 9, 2026 at 8:24 AM
also never had a terrible reaction to any of the shots

should also note that I only use those meds once a day (so in total, half the dose recommended in your post). I did recently up my fluticasone dose to 1x/day instead of 1x/every other day bc spring allergies really started kicking my ass

happy fluticasone propionate season to all who celebrate
