Definitely want that repaired! 3 fave flyrods are my: Sage, G Loomis made before sold to Shimano & a North Fork Composites (founded by G Loomis after he sold to Shimano). A flyrod that just "fits" is like that fave broken-in, worn canvas jacket.

All my springers, Buddy, FlyRod, Charlie and Jesse. I miss them all terribly along with my cats K.C., Roda and Camper. I still have Lucy and I am thankful for that. Someday I will be with all of them again!

An OF model started flyfishing with a $1300 flyrod + the flyfishing community, re: men, are mad. As with most internet outrage, it's stupid. That said I am reminded of when my wife first asked to try fishing with me. My immature reaction was admittedly, "Fuuuuuck. I only have this one thing..."

Cool & necessary advice! damn, i miss my late friend Scott (who was also my insurance broker). He talked me into getting tenant's insurance way back when (LIFEsaver) & gave me a lot of great insurance & finance advice over the years. But what i miss the most is our fishing trips 😔 he was hilarious

The other reason i should've taken "befores" of the other reel's non-functional drag assembly (which is functional now, & in fact very strong!) would be to illustrate why that reel is *not* rated for salt water use, but the much older (& pricier) System 2 is.
