thimble had to be put down. i wont go into any detail but flystrike is lethal within 24 hours and can only really be treated if its caught within the first few. I love you forever, raspberry boy.

Most sheep get their tails docked because they have badly designed butts and get flystrike, which you should not look up if you’re eating. And most sheep, of course, are not fat-tail breeds.

Sheep bred for wool are selectively engineered to produce excess wool and often suffer painful conditions like flystrike and injuries from shearing. There are also many fantastic substitutes like cork leather (which also qualifies as #vegan leather btw). #animalrights
I think having vegan options is great! But I also think that fashion companies using "vegan" leather are disgusting and producing items they know will not decompose because plastic is somehow more animal friendly than wool, a thing sheep need removed regularly, whether we use it or not.

The first day of September saw 6 new admissions to the rescue… little Thyme here was found out during the daytime with flystrike. Following treatment, fluids and warmth she is looking much brighter 🙌
