no wonder sorimachi completely hates his guts lol #fmdmmary

narahara is just... so good at making things seem obvious in retrospect and making you feel stupid. like, _of course_ kageaki would kill himself with hate to kill hikaru with love. _obviously_

with that said, i saw that kageaki was hikaru's dad from ch5 scene 1 so take that #fmdmmary

i s'pose i will do a random / scattered thoughts thread as a read, as late into the vn as that'd be lol #fmdmmary

then muramasa's own "mind of steel" ending is kageaki finally accepting his desires, and that's a bad ending lol #fmdmmary

it's not something i didn't notice before, but only now it fully formed in my mind after chachamaru's speech against muramasa trying to bring kageaki back: muramasa is a story of people following their dreams - their Way - with the exception of kageaki, who constantly denies himself #fmdmmary

I CANT GET OVER EVIL KAGEAKI BEING BISEXUAL. NARAHARA I WILL GET YOU #fmdmmary

i really do love the way the shadow of yuhi's death is ever-present thoughout the whole story. so fucking good

in some ways, it kinda makes the death of the emishi sisters weaker since they just don't compare lol #fmdmmary

i quite like how the second encounter with Hikaru in Conqueror Route ties together both of her downfalls in the heroine routes - not only making them directly relevant, but also interweaving them together, one complementing the other #fmdmmary

i just made the kinda obvious connection of how hikaru's classmate describes her with chachamaru's infatuation with her lol #fmdmmary

another thing: ch5 narration makes it clear that minato men are nothing more than "breeding stock" and that kageaki's father was forced out from the family. why would a stud be discarded if not for impotence? #fmdmmary

he believes suicide to be an easy way out, but frankly, i think his desire for judgement is no different. if anything, suicide will bring him suffering while capital punishment will bring him relief. does he deserve relief? #fmdmmary

took me a while to realize this, at least fully, but pretty much every single main character is in some way hostage to their parents' Way, "sin," etc. some more strongly than others, but most if not all of them #fmdmmary

something i kept thinking throughout nemesis is how kageaki is effectively going through a self-imposed martyrdom, but not really one of righteousness, goodness, or integrity. his mission at this point feels like is solely being fueled by self-hatred #fmdmmary
September 2, 2026 at 2:05 PM
which is why i find interesting that in hero route he has relinquished it to ichijo, at least seemingly so far. i wonder how he feels about it? is it eating at him from the inside? does he actual feel some degree of relief? #fmdmmary

what wonderful news, kageaki, that this curse brought you such enlightenment at last! it stands to reason you must embrace it for the truth it exposes!

im very curious how the route will expand on this, especially given what the second opening implies here lol #fmdmmary

it's interesting how the vn contrasts Law with Way. well, maybe not even contrast? since a Way is more of the execution of a given Law. kageaki is clearly bound to a Law while seemingly hikaru is not by hers, or at least, not in the same way #fmdmmary

a weak person who has nothing but disgust at himself driving him forward

the moment his self-hatred is denied in some way, like the prince and his father saying that he'd never be sentenced to death in any court of law ever, his heart just shatters #fmdmmary
September 2, 2026 at 2:05 PM
it's no wonder then that kageaki views both ichijo and kanae as judges that will deliver his ultimate sentencing.

just as both also sentence kageaki to death for his sins... yet understand that he's bound to a Law beyond his control and are thus incapable of bringing down judgement #fmdmmary
September 2, 2026 at 2:05 PM
as he constantly questions himself, his victims had their desires denied. why should he be any different and get the exact ending he wishes for? self-hatred - his self-imposed martyrdom - is not an excuse. again, if anything, he should have it denied from it; his martyrdom taken away #fmdmmary
September 2, 2026 at 2:05 PM
why is hikaru grooming kageaki and not her father? as far as we've seen, hikaru actually has zero interest in him

the only thing that makes me wary of this line of thinking - kageaki possibly being hikaru's actual father - is that the timeline doesn't seem to line up with his age #fmdmmary
September 3, 2026 at 1:32 AM
i already had a strong feeling on this since the beginning of chapter 5, but it seems very clear to me that kageki and hikaru's relationship is not what it seems

that one CG in ichijo's h-scene where kageaki is clearly having sex with subaru only reinforces it to me #fmdmmary
September 3, 2026 at 1:32 AM
initially i had assumed that nemesis-hero routes would be like, different sides - possibilities - of kageaki. but now that i'm done with nemesis and a good chunk into hero, they feel more like two sides of the same coin. nemesis route kinda feels like the "corruption" of the hero, in way #fmdmmary
September 2, 2026 at 2:05 PM
i quite like how kageaki and ichijo both see a mirror in each other - reflecting exactly what they wish to embody. the way kageaki feels conflicted in viewing ichijo as a mere tool only for the final sentences of the scene to show that he views it as something deeply beautiful is so good #fmdmmary
September 2, 2026 at 2:05 PM
what a repulsive guy he is, frankly

im really excited to see how the route will develop. nemesis went from something "ugly" to end up with a very sweet ending, all things considered. hero so far is pretty "happy," and i wonder if that means the ending will then be the other way around #fmdmmary
September 2, 2026 at 2:05 PM
though it does feel like a natural extension of his self-imposed martyrdom. he believes himself to be the bearer of a truth no one but himself understands and it's his mission to reveal it to the world #fmdmmary
