A photograph taken on the sunniest of January Saturdays. Featuring a vertical trunk/branch of an older tree at close range. Highlighting the beauty of the green moss, the silver lichen and the chocolate browns of the deeply grooved bark. Beyond it other branches, scrub and the blue blue sky are visible in low focus 🌲

The same woodland from a different position. A photograph taken from a low angle of the woodland floor. Focusing on the beautiful green fern in shot but emphasising the height of the surrounding trees, growing not so densely that you can’t appreciate the grey dull sky beyond.

Forest Friday - Vanishing Point - Sort Of - Look Up #ForestFriday #EastCoastKin #PhotoHour #ForTheFunOfIt #Photography #Fotografia #PhoneCamera #Kent #Nature #ThickTrunk #LookUp #VanishingPoint #Season #Autumn #Winter #BlueSky

A photograph taken with the lens pointed at the blue sky through the upper storey of a woodland in Kent. Visible are a variety of native trees, with leaves in the closest fields bright green and broad and those in furthest smaller and more ‘forest’ green in colour. The collection of trunks create a vanishing point effect- sort of. It’s mid afternoon on that November day.

Gold on Blue for #BlueSkyMonday #Winter #Photohour #EastCoastKin #ForTheFunOfIt #Photography #Fotografia #FTFOI #Kent #January #Nature #GetLow #GoOutside #Gold #Blue #Scape

A photograph featuring dry and remaining seed heads in the very immediate foreground and occupying nearly the full frame. Their browns and golds are complimented by the golds of the reeds and stalks beyond them and the bluest of skies. Streaked a little with the white clouds that are at the horizon line forming a low band whilst closer to dispersed vapour trails elsewhere. January, Pegwell Bay, Kent.

Black and White photo of a small ghost train with a big wheel in the background taken at Dreamland in Margate, a small theme park with an interesting history at one point compulsorily purchased by the local authority. In the foreground are those attending a HAIM gig, smiling and walking towards the main viewing area.

A photo taken by placing camera on a beach arm. The arm is in the immediate foreground and covered in a vivid green seaweed. In the mid ground is a modest concrete structure and the distance houses that overlook the estuary/sea. Taken in Whitstable. Kent. The pop of red is a life saving ring.

Street Furniture - Sort Of - RETROo - Loved Or Unloved - BlueSky Monday #BlueSkyMonday #AlphabetChallenge #WeekUForUnloved #TagTuesday #London #Photography #Fotografia #IPhone #EastCoastKin #PhotoHour #Graffiti #ForTheFunOfIt

A photograph of a three seat sofa situated on the path of a side road in London. Near turquoise in colour it’s at surface level in good condition and not ‘fly tipped’. Visible is a doorway that perhaps conceals its storage facility. Alongside a commercial waste refuse bin, with graffiti/tags on its short side. Taken on a bright day in early spring.

A view of a junction between backstreet roads, taken relatively early in the morning, notably no people within image. Taken from a low vantage the buildings, on each corner dominate it. But also prominent is a stop sign painted on the road from which the photograph is taken. It is a late summer, sunny day and I hope the oranges, warm greys and browns pop against the blue of the sky, or in fact the reverse.

Blackberries for BlueSkyMonday, particularly swollen, exquisitely sweet, seasonally a genuine treat (I know, I know, well sort of) #BlueSkyMonday #Photography #Foto #EastCoastKin #ECK #Summer #Season #StormHour #CameraPhone #ForTheFunOfIt

The image is taken from below and features a prominent branch of a blackberry bush entering the shot left to right. At its end is a clump of berries relatively large in size and black or red. Visible to the left is the edge of the rest of the bush and the sky is contrasting with the dark berries, a deep turquoise streaked with some very modest high level clouds.

A photo of the rudder end (sorry) of a blue and white wooden (presumed) fishing vessel in the foreground. On a pebble beach taken from a low angle so that beach meets sky. The sky is covered in white clouds aside from a thick band of dark grey at the horizon hinting at the storm rolling in. On the boat is the prominent label FAIR CHANCE, which I like to think is at pleasing odds with the pending storm but I also like it from an equity perspective. Fool that I am.

A hanging display stand in a store. The subject principally are artistic works that are old children’s dolls disassembled and reassembled using old tins such as those that would have stored pantry items or tobacco. The prominent doll in this image is arranged so that a tobacco tin acts as her body with her limbs and head protruding from it. She has hip high boots, blonde hair and her arms (to my mind) are arranged, bent at the elbow, palms upturned as if to say ‘what the…’. A smaller baby like doll is hung so that it’s looking with wide eyes at our doll.

Sound Mirrors located near Dungeness in Kent, historical listening devices for defence purposes. Taken across a lake and reed bed, appearing a little monumental against the sky. Photo heavily edited to emphasise the concave nature of the principal structure including what seems to be a microphone in the bowl of the building.

Red Gate - For The Fun Of It 🔴 #ColorADay #RedWed #EastCoastKin #PhotoHour #GoLow #Red #Photography #Fotografia #PhoneCamera #ForTheFunOfIt #Winter #Gate #Nature #Kent #🔴 #December

A photograph of a lane flanked on each side by a traditional crafted wooden fence (post and three horizontals constructed from pieces of wood still showing the curve of the branch it once was). On a grey damp morning the lane is wet and muddy. Alongside the fence growing behind and through it are tangles of hedgerow type shrubbery and tall trees, some Ivy strewn. Notably the principle subject is a bright red painted gate (two posts, a panel and three small planks creating four square holes/windows in the top third). Constructed by someone not bought ready made. The red pops against the other muted colours of the scene.

Little House on the Embankment - Sort Of OR Morning Glow #ForestFriday #PhotoHour #Scape #ForTheFunOfIt #EastCoastKin #Fotografia #Photography #AlphabetChallenge #WeekBForBooks #LittleHouseOnThePrairie #LauraIngallsWilder #Kent

A photograph of a small wooden house that is actually more likely a shed. Taken on a winter’s morning the sky is streaked the palest of baby pinks and blues and peach. In the foreground are twigs of shrubs with one or two last leaves clinging to them. The scrap of land visible is mostly covered in long grass starting to fail, an embankment, some trees. The windows of our construction are yellow board giving the impression of there emanating the glow of an interior or candle light from them. It reminded me of a TV show starting to fade from memory of a small home on a prairie and the humans who lived there. Written by Laura Ingalls Wilder or at least the originating books.
