If you have been a critic of the rogue Modi-RSS regime in India, think 10x times before planning a vacation in India!

Modi has a record of systematically going after critics of his Fascist Rrgime much like Russia!

You could end up being arrested & spend years in Jail without trial!

Jagtar Singh Johal, a Scottish Sikh from Dumbarton, has now been imprisoned for SEVEN years without being brought to trial, and without any evidence being provided of any guilt. Successive Westminster governments have done nothing about it.
Can everyone please, please repost this.

For Jagtar to remain imprisoned after this acquittal would be a terrible injustice – on top of the seven years he has already spent arbitrarily detained.

The UK Government must act now to secure Jagtar’s release and bring him home to Dumbarton #FreeJaggiNow

As Foreign Secretary visits India today, I requested a statement upon her return confirming my constituent, Jagtar Singh Johal's case was raised & his release insisted upon. Securing the freedom of a British citizen unjustifiably imprisoned for 9 years should be our top priority.

I have written a letter signed by 60 of my parliamentary colleagues to the Foreign Secretary urging the Government to take decisive and immediate action to secure the release of my constituent, Jagtar Singh Johal, from arbitrary detention in India.

My thanks to all for their support.

BBC News have taken a deep dive into the case against Jagtar Singh Johal.

Spoiler alert: there isn't one, that's why he was found not guilty. But Indian authorities are keeping him locked up.

Time for the UK Govt to bring him home #FreeJaggiNow

Unconscionable that Jagtar Singh Johal is still imprisoned. Come on, @yvettecooper-mp.bsky.social - bring him home. #FreeJaggiNow
One year ago today, British human rights activist Jagtar Singh Johal was acquitted on all charges in the first case against him, but he’s still locked up, with no end in sight to his ordeal.

It’s more clear than ever that only action from the UK Government can bring him home to his family.

Gurpreet Singh Johal told MPs today that his brother Jagtar has been moved into solitary confinement and placed under armed guard following his recent acquittal.

The Foreign Secretary has offered to meet again... in late May. "They're not taking this seriously and urgently enough." #FreeJaggiNow

Today marks 3,000 days since my constituent, Jagtar Singh Johal, was imprisoned in India.

He has faced brutal torture, forced to confess to crimes he did not commit, his detention officially ruled as arbitrary.

I will not give up until he is free and back home with his family.

Journalist Calum McKay has been following Jagtar Singh Johal's story for many years. Now Jagtar has been acquitted in the first case he can finally get stuck into the evidence.

Here, in typically balanced and controlled BBC fashion, he absolutely dismantles the prosecution case #FreeJaggiNow

First day back at Westminster and I raised the case of my West Dunbartonshire constituent, Jagtar Singh Johal, in the Commons.

This is the 9th Foreign Secretary since Jagtar's imprisonment. Raising his case is not enough. We must secure his release now.

Today marks 8 years since my West Dunbartonshire constituent Jagtar Singh Johal was wrongfully arrested and arbitrarily detained in India.

I call on the PM & Foreign Secretary to act decisively, insist on his release and bring him home to his family in Dumbarton.

I requested an update from the Foreign Secretary on her visit to India and discussions with Minister Jaishankar regarding the release of my constituent, Jagtar Singh Johal, arbitrarily detained in India for almost 9 years now.

Enough is enough. We must #FreeJaggiNow.

My constituent, Jagtar Singh Johal, has been arbitrarily detained in India for almost 3,000 days now - 8 long years.

I asked what is being done to secure his release beyond just raising his case with Indian counterparts, as this clearly is not working.

A step in the right direction but Jaggi will still be facing the death penalty in eight duplicate trumped-up cases against him. So, the question begs to be asked, what is FCDO doing differently from 9 years ago #FreeJaggiNow
This morning we received the news that an Indian court has ordered Jagtar Singh Johal be granted bail.

After 7 years in jail, Jagtar Singh Johal has won his first acquittal—but he’s still not free.

It is one of nine cases against him, all of which rely on the same "confession" allegedly extracted under torture.
India must end this injustice.
