The two companies have worked together for almost 30 years, with EgyptAir joining the A330-200P2F programme as its launch customer.

EgyptAir was the launch customer for the A330-200P2F, receiving its first converted aircraft from EFW in 2018.

AviationNews – ASL Aviation Holdings has expanded its owned cargo aircraft portfolio by officially acquiring two Boeing 747-400ERF freighters to address sustained global demand for long-haul air freight. The Dublin-headquartered aviation services group finalized the transaction on August 7, 2026, transferring full ownership of the two widebody jets—registered as OE-IFB and OE-IFD—from their previous leasing structures directly into the company’s asset portfolio.

At Farnborough, MSC Air Cargo has placed an order for five of Boeing’s yet to be launched 777 8Fs, further strengthening its all Boeing widebody fleet.

Cathay Cargo will add an Airbus A330P2F converted freighter to its network after Air Hong Kong signed a lease agreement for the aircraft, providing additional cargo capacity and supporting the growth of Cathay Cargo's operations.

Aviation News – AerCap has signed a lease agreement with Ethiopian Airlines for two Boeing 777-300ERSF aircraft, with deliveries scheduled for the second quarter of 2028, strengthening the airline’s growing cargo operations. The agreement, announced on 24 March 2026, involves freighter conversions carried out by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). Ethiopian Airlines already operates a diverse cargo fleet comprising four B737-800SFs, four B767-300Fs, and twelve B777Fs, and has also committed to acquiring five additional B777Fs, although these orders are yet to be finalized.

Aviation News – Boeing has asked the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for a temporary exemption from an emissions rule taking effect at the end of 2027 for its 777 freighter. The request underscores concerns about a global shortage of wide-body cargo aircraft and the risk of reduced air freight capacity. The U.S. aircraft manufacturer wants approval to produce 35 Boeing 777 freighters from 2028 onward, even though the aircraft’s engines do not comply with the stricter emissions limits set by the United Nations’ International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
