shrimps on a trip! 🍊🫐 ( #artfight2026 attack for @nikkoyen.bsky.social )

#splatoon #splatoonOC #fruitshrimp #art
illustration i made during artfight 2026 for my friend yen! it depicts yen and i's splatoon OCs riding the subway together at sunset. on the left, you can see minatoast and ash having a chat amongst themselves. across from them is ranchu, who is looking away with contempt. the middle of the illustration features comet and wakin; wakin is pointing at shades and sydney, who are listening to music together. standing at the train doors on the right is morgan and the idol gels (who is disgused). the two of them are looking at shades and sydney with curiosity. the subway itself was based on the one at the start of splatoon 3, and features two posters: one of my toni kensa OCs (oreo and lee), and one of gels performing at a concert (which is obscured by sydney.)

color script i made for #colorandlight2025 of my friend and i's #splatoon ocs :) #art #splatoonOC #fruitshrimp
a color script with 16 color keys that i made for week 6 of chuwenjie's color and light 2025 class, depicting yen and i's splatoon OCs. row 1: shades is depicted practicing in the lobby with their flingza roller. they are approached by ranchu, who gives them a lengthy packet of criticism. shades, who has already tired themselves out from repeated practice, feels disheartened by this. row 2: sydney, who just finished work, is sitting on a bench at sunset, waiting for shades to show up to their hangout. unsure of their wearabouts, sydney decides to text them. after no response, sydney decides to go look for them. row 3: sydney arrives to the lobby, and to his horror, he found shades passed out on the floor next to the target dummies. the papers from ranchu's packet of criticism is scattered throughout the floor. concerned for their health, sydney decides to check shades pulse to make sure they're breathing. row 4: shades wakes up, and is surprised to see sydney. as shades looks up at sydney, they can see him crying in relief. shades gets up, and sydney, happy that his best friend is awake, smiles at them and hands them a bottle of water.

🍊🫐 throughout time!

#splatoonoc #splatoon #art #fruitshrimp
a vertical illustration showcasing sydney and shades' relationship at different points of time. at the top in blue, shades and sydney are facing away from each other, showing what their lives were like before they met. shades is holding a smoothie in their right hand, while sydney is holding a mop and has a solemn expression. the middle row depicts the two of them twice. on the left drawing, sydney takes a look at shades journal. on the right, shades is feeding sydney a piece of strawberry cake on a fork. the bottom row represents present-day sydney and shades: they are sharing earbuds together and wearing matching accessories (sun/moon hairclip + tangerine/blueberry necklaces). sydney is happily smiling, and shades is looking at him with fondness (without the glasses too!).
