With all the recent AI stuff I decided to re-read Kurzweil's futurecasting books from the 90s. He does make a lot of mistakes, but they're of a particular kind.
In short: his predictions about capabilities of the machines is fairly good, and he's even pro neural network when it was less cool. (1/n)

I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as an Adjunct Faculty Member, at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University! I'll be lecturing on Science Fiction Prototyping and other Futurecasting methodologies.

Recent studies show most gifted people are actually neurodivergent. It's definitely true in my case. I do seem to have some futurecasting and mind reading abilities, but they seem reflexive. They just happen. It's likely due to my Autistic patten matching ability and Mirror Touch Synesthesia.
