here's another smol laptop. the keyboard is not as comfy as on the gemini, but it's a full set of keys and it runs linux properly. it can even play bad apple on full settings.

so i got full vs code (termux + pwa on localhost) running on this revived phone natively. like you can just do that and it works well. how cool is that???

you hold the power button get like 0.1A for 1 second. so you leave it overnight with a rubberband contraption holding the power button and it'll charge the dead battery enough to turn the thing on.

i was honestly so excited to see the BlackBerry KeyOne and KeyTwo get the care that they deserved, but eventually that contract between TCL and BlackBerry expired. the Fxtec Pro1 seemed promising but apparently it wasn't very good. shame that the market isn't there

I think the mconn by oh snap is pretty cool but what I really crave is to flip out a keyboard from my phone like it's 2007 again. I would die for an updated fxtec pro 1 lol. I did see coverage of the comet at CES but it doesn't have the same vibe.

got my fxtec pro1x booting again today
it only charges when it's on
which is a problem if it runs out of power and can't turn on
fix is to hold the power button down while plugged into a low-power charger overnight
got to 6% by morning

does anyone know how to fully disable the fingerprint sensor on Mobian? I have an old fxtec Pro1 with a broken fingerprint sensor. Mobian keeps waking up, and when I look at dmesg, the fingerprint sensor seems to be a culprit, so I want to try to disable it.

(and yes I'm sure someone will point out the fxtec pro 1 - but that was outdated for the price when it came out and is old now - I was still massively tempted though!)
