It was only a matter of time before I started a certain BG3 Origin run, ok? Dissecting characters I like is A. Thing. I. Do. So call this "research" even if it is fueled by no small amount of... spite. When the discourse annoys, I research... anyway it's been very interesting so far! SPOILERS ETC.
![Screenshot taken immediately after yoinking Gale out of the wall. Astarion, in his origin run, immediately has the option to share he's a spawn. This is also an option with every companion. Which is very amusing to me for some reason. I was going to see how long I could keep it going but then visited Gandrel who ruined my plans. Gale was then like, "YO, I KNEW it!"
Gale: How can I help?
Response choices:
1) [Astarion] Gale's no strange to the uncanny. He might not flinch at the truth - that you are a vampire spawn... (selected)

You can find an exsanguinated boar carcass that makes you suspicious, but in my experience, there’s two ways to find out. One is waking up to him about to feed on you in camp, the other is meeting Gandrel by Aunty Ethel’s house who tells you he’s hunting a vampire spawn named Astarion.

...and managed to defeat her before even setting foot in her lair, the contents of which sort of cemented their decision to take her down.
It was only AFTER that they met Gandrel and, well, Kes wasn't super impressed at the decision of making a deal with ONE child-eating monster...

i just got handful of new dialogues and a scenes that i'm 90% sure i've never gotten before bc i made the decision to go to gandrel before the reveal that astarion's a vampire and MY GOD. my god.

Anyways, so just used a waypoint to teleport in the sewers and saw Gandrel with his kids! But cuz Shadowheart has the blood of lathander, he saw it as a threat and attacked so I knocked his ass out lol

Found a cure and is happy to help Astarion and the other spawn. Sadly she can't help Ylva getting rid of being a werewolf, but that is manageable. Gandrel is happy to have his children back as normal, Sebastian, who has really stepped up during the five years as a community leader, decided to

I spread my Gandrel brainrot here instead ^_^ Ever since joining the BG3 fandom, I've gotten more careless about the discourse. Probably because I've already been through it elsewhere before so now it's just kinda meh when it happens. It just happens every few months now.

OMG, I love Gandrel. He made me go into a rabbit hole about the Gur, which resulted in giving two of my characters a Gur background. I always make sure, he stays alive and gets reunited with his kids.

Just an addon about the minor npcs (didn't have much time yesterday) - the Gondians, especially Zanner and his daughter Obelia, the myconids, the harpers, Korrilla (she would have made a great evil companion), Gandrel and the Gur and of course the one and only Dolly Thrice

#bg3spoilers I saw the dialogue you get if you go to Gandrel with Astarion before you know he’s a vampire.
He is VERY lucky the PC is obligate stupid at this point, because he is not smooth at all about it.

Rook didn't kill Gandrel, but lied about knowing Astarion. There was a bit of an argument after that. Lysander decided to kill him the second Astarion's name left the man's lips. Featuring a screenshot of OG Lysander #tavqotd

Stardust never kills if she can help it and Gandrel is an innocent man seeking the person who kidnapped his children. She tells him she has seen no vampires and he goes on his merry way. Part of her feels very guilty to deceive him, but she knows Astarion didn’t have an option, it was cazador.
