'Gangbuk Motel Serial Murderer' Kim Soyoung, 3 additional victims confirmed
** ** **SOURCE:  [속보] '강북 모텔 연쇄살인' 김소영, 피해자 3명 추가 확인** It has been confirmed that three more victims have been identified in the 'Gangbuk Motel Serial Murder' case in addition to the male victims previously identified. On the 16th, an official from the National Office of Investigation announced during a press briefing at the Korean National Police Agency HQ in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, saying, "We have additionally booked (Kim Soyoung) on charges of injuring three newly identified victims." The official added, "According to forensic results from the National Forensic Service, the same type of psychotropic drug found in previous victims was detected in the hair of one of these newly identified victims." For the remaining two victims, results for one are still pending, while no drugs were detected in the other. Police believe this may be because a long time had passed since the crime. The investigation revealed that the three newly identified victims were found to have received and consumed drinks containing drugs by Kim Soyoung between October last year and January this year in areas including Seocho-gu and Gangbuk-gu, Seoul. With these new findings, the total number of men targeted by Kim Soyoung has risen to six, including two deaths and one injury. Kim Soyoung was sent to trial on charges for allegedly giving intoxicated men drinks containing benzodiazepine-class drugs between December last year and the 8th of last month, causing two deaths and injuring one person. She was initially arrested on charges including bodily injury resulting in death, but investigators later discovered that Kim Soyoung had asked AI questions such as, "Can someone die if they take sleeping pills after drinking alcohol?" Furthermore, it was also reported that she reportedly confessed during the investigation, saying, "I was aware that taking medication while drinking alcohol is dangerous," unlike her previous statement. As a result, Kim Soyoung was referred to the prosecutors on charges of murder. The prosecutors determined her actions to be a premeditated crime with no clear motive and indicted her under detention. The first trial for Kim Soyoung is scheduled to be held at the Seoul Northern District Court on the 9th of next month at 3.30 PM (KST). Meanwhile, the prosecution recently held a Disclosure Committee and released Kim Soyoung's name, face, and age, which the police hadn't previously disclosed. A police official explained that they hadn't disclosed her identity earlier because "the suspect was denying the charges and the detention investigation period was only ten days, making it difficult to determine that the legal requirements of the Act on Suspect Information Disclosure were met." **COMMENTS:** -Is she out of her mind?? She committed all these crimes in such a short period of time??? -If she hadn't been caught, she probably would've gone around killing people one after another. But what one earth is her reason?? -It's such a lief tat she was caught quickly. If the investigation had been delayed, who knows how many more people might've died. -I mean... Why did she do that? What did they do that she tried to kill them all? It's truly a relief that she was caught quickly. -She's definitely a psychopath. If she hadn't been caught, she would've truly become a serial killer. -Is she a psychopath? -Whoa... I hope she stays in prison for the rest of her life. -Was her goal just to kill people?? That is scaryㄷㄷ -Is it possible that there are actually more victims, but they couldn't be reached because they're already dead...?;;;;;; -Killing six people at the age of 20.......

"Fooled by her Instagram photos' ... 'Motel murderer' Kim Soyoung's identity revealed, netizens mock her: "She scammed us with her looks"
**SOURCE:  "인스타 사진에 속았다"…'모텔 살인女' 김소영 신상공개되자 "외모로 사기쳤네" 조롱까지** After the identity of Kim Soyoung, the suspect in the Gangbuk Motel Serial Murder Case who killed two men using drugged drinks, was publicly released, posts comparing her looks to her Instagram photos began spreading online. People who initially defended her with comments like, "She's not guilty because she's pretty," are now criticizing and mocking both her crime and looks, saying, "She scammed us with her looks. She should be charged of frauds too." On the 9th, the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office disclosed the name, age, and mugshot of Kim Soyoung (20), who was arrested and referred to prosecutors by the police. The disclosure period runs from that day until April 8. Previously, despite the brutality of this serial murder case, her leaked Instagram photos drew reactions like, "She's not guilty because she's pretty," and "Let's set up a donation account," drawing criticism for trivializing the crimes. However, once Kim Soyoung's actual face was revealed, people began comparing her mug shot with her Instagram photos, with netizens leaving comments like, "I was blinded by her makeup for a moment," and "I was fooled by her Instagram photos." Netizens also mocked her with comments like, "I take back saying I'd go to a motel with her," "This is why you shouldn't judge someone based on their Instagram photos only," "She looks like a completely different person in real life," "I can't recognize her because of the makeup," and "20?? She looks 40. Shocking." People that initially defended her because of her looks are now criticizing both her looks and crimes, leading to further debate over lookism. For example, a post titled 'This serial killer girl actually looks like sh*t' surfaced on an online community. The author shared Kim Soyoung's photo and wrote, "It is said that she ordered 22 dishes at a luxury hotel restaurant using the victim's card. How can someone in their early 20s have such twisted thoughts and kill people instead of working hard to earn her own money? Even the prison food she'll eat for free is a waste. People mistook her for being pretty and followed her blindly." Another post shared her mug shot along with the caption that said, "Her makeup is too heavy. Since she scammed us with her looks. She should be charged of frauds too." Meanwhile, Kim Soyoung is accused of giving drugged drinks to three men in their 20s at various motels in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, between December 14th of last year and February 9th of this year, killing two and injuring one. On the 19th of last month, the Seoul Gangbuk Police referred her to the prosecution on charges of murder, aggravated injury, and violation of the Narcotics Control Act. Previously, it was revealed that Kim Soyoung scored 25 out of 40 points on a psychopathy assessment. This test measures psychopathic traits such as coldness, impulsivity, lack of empathy, and irresponsibility across 20 questions. In South Korea, individuals who score above 25 are typically classified as psychopaths.

[Daily News] MARCH 11TH 2026
Following the release of the personal information of Kim Soyoung (20), the Twitter viral suspect in the "Gangbuk Motel Drug Serial Murders," online debate surrounding her appearance has reignited. On the 9th, the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office released Kim's face, name, and age in accordance with the Act on the Disclosure of Personal Information of Suspects of Specific Serious Crimes. Some users compared the photos posted on social media before the incident with the newly released photos, and posted comments criticizing her appearance. Responses included, "I was blinded by the makeup," "I was fooled by the Instagram photos," and "I'm taking back what I said about following her to the motel." This reaction contrasts sharply with the initial reaction to the incident. At the time, many voices glorified or defended the perpetrator, based on Kim's social media photos. Posts such as “If a woman like that asked to go to a motel, there would be no man who would refuse” and “She’s pretty, so find her not guilty” were uploaded, raising concerns about fandom and secondary victimization of the perpetrator. The initial incident sparked controversy with opposing views. Many voices glorified or defended the perpetrator based on Kim's social media photos. As posts glorified the perpetrator or distorted the crime, such as "no man would refuse," spread, concerns were raised about secondary victimization. After the identity was revealed, criticism grew louder instead of glorifying it, but this too was criticized as an appearance-oriented criticism that said, "the appearance does not meet expectations," rather than the crime itself. Kim was arrested and indicted on charges of murder, special as***ult, and violation of the Narcotics Control Act for giving drinks containing benzodiazepine drugs to three men in their 20s between mid-December last year and February 9 this year, causing the deaths of two and unconsciousness of one. [Nate] Woodz shares about the tragic passing of his father in the Philippines. The tvN entertainment program "You Quiz on the Block," which aired on the 11th, featured appearances [...] singer Woodz, who created a comeback with a song he sang in the military [...] Woodz recalled, "I suddenly got a call from my mother. It felt strange. I answered, and as soon as she said, 'Don't be alarmed, listen,' I immediately thought something was wrong. She told me my father had passed away. I told her I was going home." "I still don't know the cause of my father's d**th. I only know that he passed away overseas (in the Philippines)," Woodz recalled. "I had to bring him to Korea first. I couldn't bring his body back, so I asked for his cremation. I carried the urn and traveled around the Philippines, where I spent time with my father, and then I carried it back to Korea." He continued, "I thought it was absurd that my father, who was the most important person to me, was in this small place (urn). I guess it didn't really feel real." He continued, "I sent my father off at the temple, and at the end, I called his name three times as a final farewell to this world. That's when I truly felt like he was no longer in this world." Woodz said, “I haven’t seen him much since my first year of high school while I was a trainee in Korea,” and confessed calmly, “(My father’s d**th) came to me as a painful emotion, but now that I’m getting older and time has passed, I think I feel the void my father left behind.” [Nate] It has been reported that Blackpink member and actress Jisoo will receive the 'Madame Figaro Rising Star Award' at the international series festival Canneseries.
