My favorite aspect of writing is the creation of something from nothing. I just... love making stories SO MUCH and I'm so obsessed with the creation of art in all forms. It's the most amazing part of being human, I think, the fact that we are capable of this kind of stuff.

I think my biggest challenge will be balancing my time and energy. April is shaping up to be a busy month at work and I'm worried it will sap my energy, but I'm going to do my best to fight against it! I'm relying on the pure hype to pull me through. I want to write!!

I'm most excited about the thrill of completing a new project, as well as working on something new! I spent a lot of time with my first novel, so I'm itching to work on something entirely separate from it, and really put my mettle to the test with fast drafting.

My goal for April is at least 60,000 words! Last Gauntlet I did 30,000 words and I managed it without too much challenge, so I'd really love to see if I can double it! I know I can do 70k in a month when I try, I've done it a couple times before, so I think it'll be possible.

I.. don't? Probably not a very good answer but I'm such a burst writer that my momentum is largely driven by a combination of available (mental) time and motivation, and it's rarely consistent. But I do make a point to at least think about my stories daily if not open a doc to work too #GauntletChat

My horror WIP came from my former work commute 😅 There was always so much roadkill along the road and I wished I could bring it back to life (the forest god bits came later..). No real author/book influences there but my adventure fantasy leans heavy on my love of Tamora Pierce's books #GauntletChat
