I'd love for Godot to get better and scale better for the projects I want to make, but there's a lot of good reasons I return to Unity each time. I'd really love for it to get better but knowing GDevelop, I'd rather learn and use an engine that works than one that doesn't but might one day.

I used to use a ton another FOSS engine, GDevelop. I mainly used it like 2015-2021 for some small projects, but eventually dropped it because the support it has is just... painfully limited. And any time I've touched it now, it's clearly gone a very different direction from what I need for games.
