i think either tonight or tomorrow should be Baking Day for this boy, because his pant straps are all that's left to make.
excited to finally be able to hold him in my hands after basically building all of him directly on this plate! i'll get to see how undetailed the underside is, haha

He blew a louder blast on his horn and shouted, “Come, Gelert, come,” saying to his huntsman that it was strange that Gelert should be the last to hear his horn.

closeups!
praedius has a short little face for a gelert, and i feel like maybe here his muzzle is still a little long compared to the 3D model i did for him, but i'm pretty happy with the shape anyway so i won't mess with it.
he'll have a sculpted nose but painted eyes.

My partner made these ones as well. Still in awe that HeraldoftheArcane and ManofProgress weren't taken.
Elephante was a good choice for Gio I think. They flipped him to a Gelert, but he was originally a grey Ogrin.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social I really enjoyed hearing about your love of disused train lines and railways. If you would ever like to have a go at driving a steam engine, the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway in Porthmadog could help you out.

Now, Llywelyn had a little son about two years old with whom Gelert used to play, and the thought that the hound seemed guilty of something or other made him hurry towards the child’s nursery, Gelert following at his heels.

Of course. It's pronounced Gelert, like Geralt, the Witcher... not Jelert or Jerald!

But more likely, it's some Welsh folk remembering good times at Dolfriog Camp at Beddgelert. You will, of course, be familiar with the legend of Gelert the Dog.

Gets me every time, but only when you tell the story. I’ve heard others tell the tale of Gelert, never with the same intensity as you. Sorry for the misspelling of Gelert earlier, I’m bilingually dyslexic, I struggle to read and write in English and Spanish, and then I throw Welsh in as well.

Too late, Llywelyn realised what had happened while he was at the chase: Gelert had fought and slain the wolf which had come to destroy Llywelyn’s heir.

I'm connected, via YouTube, to a few bat re-habbers. One based in Sydney, one on the Gold Coast (near me), one in Logan (between the Gold Coast & Brisbane - *very* near me) & this one, a little north of Brisbane.

The food hall is worth a visit. Cross river using chain bridge. Take furnicular up to musuem - good views across city. Go to Heroes Square. If Gelert hotel has reopened, check to see if you can still use their thermal spa as a non-guest.
