That last point important. Many concerned about "gentification." To the degree that is neighborhoods improving that is a good thing. But if it is displacement and pricing out existing residents it is a concern. Fortunately the research finds that it is not.

To be serious, its understandable peoples feel sad when areas that used to be theirs slip away - you see this at a local level where people get annoyed at gentification. But that's life. Obsessing about what you've lost rather than focusing on what you have, does nobody any good

Unhinged move by mainstream Dems to do this when they've been largely responsible for US cities becoming so unaffordable, and also ignorant of Mamdani's embrace of nuance when it comes to housing supply. Getting COL under control is a necessary component of halting the popularity of populism.
