I feel like the text-based web is dying by degrees but with sudden turns to the worse. The pending shutdown of GetPocket is terrible, and TheOldReader has been having more and more outages. Just awful.

Hello @tijs.org. I'm writing a small app to import my old getpocket (RIP) bookmarks to my PDS (as community.lexicon.bookmarks.bookmark records). I see that kipclip defines its own tag record type www.val.town/x/tijs/kipcl... , how does that interact with the existing "bookmark" tags array field? 🤔

I've been using a kobo devices for 10 years. Currently using a kobo Clara 2e. The screen is great, the online bookstore is pretty large and it integrates with my local library and can digitally check out books. I can also read saved reads from getpocket.

Has anyone else noticed that the Android version of GetPocket no longer bookmarks one's place when reading an article? It's a deep nuisance to start a 10 kiloword article, pause, come back, and find that it's reset to the top.
Is there some setting I'm missing? Or has it just been enshittified?
