Drives still use NTFS, yes, but I'm referring to the GetVersion command in the Windows API... After NT 4.0, Windows 2000 would show as NT 5.0, XP as NT 5.1 (XP64 as 5.2), Vista as NT 6.0, 7 as NT 6.1, 8 as NT 6.2.
The command wss obsoleted in 8, but I think the internal version is still NT even now.

A poorly designed Python function called getVersion. It's an instance method of a class and returns a string, but it doesn't use any instance data. The string value being returned is the string returned by the built-in string method...whose argument here is a string literal.

The code snippet from Microsoft's Universal C Runtime that causes the consistent crash when closing the ReC98 P0310 Shuusou Gyoku build on Windows 98, due to reaching into an NT-specific structure on a 9x kernel. So when I read Android 16 (API 36) changes, I stumbled upon this interesting finding > Android 16 (API level 36) includes the following security changes. > **MediaStore version lockdown** > For apps targeting Android 16 or higher, MediaStore#getVersion() will now be unique to each app. This **eliminates identifying properties from the version string to prevent abuse and usage for fingerprinting** techniques. This got me thinking, what are other ways app can fingerprint users on Android?
