I am loving this little guy from the new K-Drama fantasy horror The East Palace.
The Ggeomeoksali. My new favorite creature.
I’d eat rice cakes with it all day.

Tiny. Round. Like a Pokémon!
I couldn’t resist drawing the adorable Ggeomeoksali from The East Palace. Such a lovable little creature, and I’m really enjoying the series so far. Definitely one of my fav supernatural companions in a while!

Me he comprado este llavero del merchandising de «El palacio del este».
Me encanta el ggeomeoksali y sí, me atrevo a decir que es el "true hero" de la serie con ese contraste entre adorable y peligroso.

A Korean creator has made a pattern of the adorable Ggeomeoksali from The East Palace, so of course instead of working this morning I'm searching for Korean crochet terms so I can parse it out. Of course.

My brain just loves making connections. Saw this shot in #TheEastPalace and it made me think of this one in #DashingYouth. It's why I'm glad I take and share screenshots. It's fun to look back on what I've watched. #kdrama #cdrama

No it's less gore compared to Constantine (2005). It's a 50/50 of Samara/Sadako from #TheRing and weirdly mushed creatures. Kinda like those from #SweetHome and #StrangerThings but less gut twisting creepy.
Also critters get a small portion of screen time. Aside from Ggeomeoksali

Look how cute this one is! Little #Ggeomeoksali isn't that bad at all. But our ML is scared of it because It latches onto the living, not a place, and drains their yang energy. And those who have been affected by it will die after seeing terror.

#TheEastPalace #kdrama is a horror; it deep dives into Korean shamanism, folklore.
The spirit world is mirroring the real palace, they used monochrome, especially red or yellow overtone.
Cho Seung-woo as the king was a great choice, he added uncertainty to the story.

This is such a cute idea! 😍 The Crown Prince with his hair down made such an excellent ghost. Lovely to see Gu-cheon protecting Saeng-gang's ears while she gets a comfot Ggeomeoksali! 💕

I would like there to be more East Palace, but it's just Saeng-gang, Gu-cheon and Ggeomeoksali wandering around righting wrongs with a backdrop of further court intrigue.

"East Palace" on Netflix:
"The series' standout gwi-mae is a Ggeomeoksali: a creepy, yet also somehow endearing creature with the round face, hollow white eyes, and chubby body of a baby." It can turn into a monster, and feeds on Yang energy. Your characters reminded me of the dual nature of it.
