Heyo, I am in warm and sunny #GilroyCA where several local #SouthBayArea orgs are coming together to march to and protest site of the incoming #ICE detention center.

The state attorney general and the Santa Clara County recently sued to stop the development.

So far, about 70-100 folks here.

A flier for the protest. It reads:

PROTEST AND MARCH
MEXICAN HERITAGE PLAZA"

The logos for Community Agency for Resources, Human Agenda, SIREN, DSA, San Jose Against War, FRSO San Jose, HERO TENT, CSO, and San Jose Coalition Against Trump are included.

Heyo! I am back in #GilroyCA, this time at San Ysidro Park, for the second iteration of the "ICE OUT THE BAY" march to the planned ICE facility a few miles away on Holsclaw Road.

The protest officially starts at 3 p.m. and there are ~60 people here already.

The flier for ICE PUT THE BAY is mostly in black-and-white. It says:

"ICE OUT THE BAY
GILROY, CA JULY 19 | 3 PM
MEET AT SAN YSIDRO PARK
7700 MURRAY AVE
MARCH TO 7240 HOLSCLAW ROAD."

The logos for local orgs including FRSO, Legalization For All, Hero Tent, SIREN, San José Against War and CSO-San Jose are present

I regret to inform you: The Mayor of #GilroyCA is named Greg Bozzo. And *somehow,* one of his mid-level city employees single-handedly approved construction of a #hyperscale Data Center in #Gilroy, a #NorCal Ag-town famously known as the “Garlic Capital of the World.” 🤦🏽‍♀️ 🧄 apple.news/AFpQEO3B0Tvy...
