Meet another Ginga OC! He’s actually my first, and his original iteration was a lot more edgy and with a ✨tragic✨ backstory. Now he’s more grounded and very much the dad of the group.

**Update September 2026:** Redid Weed's color palette, and also flipped the image so I can showcase Weed's neck scars in my design for him

The original post's thread that has information regarding my Ginga AU and this OC is still there and still the same

This is Moonlight, the protagonist of the upcoming Ginga passion project Ginga Densetsu Moonlight. She is a Wolf/Kishu-Inu/Akita. She is a character that I created inspired by the 1986 anime Ginga Nagareboshi Gin and its anime sequel Ginga Densetsu Weed. (Note: I didn't watch both of the anime(s) growing up; I discovered them on YouTube.) I think both of those anime were the first anime(s) I watched in Japanese with English subtitles. Here's a little more of Moonlight's story: Her father is an Akita/wolf (Samurai), and her mother (Hana) is a Kishu. But her mother was swept away from a terrible storm before Moonlight was born and rescued by a Wolf/Husky named Striker. She told his story and felt bad for her after being swept away from her homeland. Soon later down the road, Hana fell in love with Striker even though she still loved Samurai and still never forgot him. During the waxing moon, Moonlight was born with the waxing crescent moon marking on the left side of her face, and later down the road will get the four scars on the right side of her face. During the night Moonlight was born, there were also star showers. Striker is also Moonlight’s stepfather and godfather. Moonlight inherits the ancient family technique: Zetsu Tenrou Battouga; Fang Sword of Sirius (Manga Planet) or Cutting Fang Sword of Heavenly Wolf (direct translation). One of my favorites that I did for artfight this year! This was a friendly fire of Dumdogs character, Yamato

It was fun figuring out how to mimic the shows art style

Two drawings today; Ranger for Capraphobia on Art Fight! Drawing Ginga-style was kind of refreshing, also have not done that in ages.

Drawing of a gray/white dog like from the Ginga anime/manga series sitting and facing the viewer. The dog has pointed ears that flop on the tips and its mouth is open, tongue lolling out. A scar is on its back across his flank.
