I still have so many short little gisemet ficlets on tumblr from when 5.0 was EA/current and as patches released bc I was just happily writing things totally oblivious to and divorced from the toxic atmosphere that grew up around him esp on twt and I miss that feeling

Tbh. the way I conceptualize Gisemet owes a lot to the Stranges. Especially Scion!Hades. The arrogant all powerful sorcerer of eld being absolutely bowled over by a very powerful sorceress who loves him dearly but has no tolerance for his bullshit is my fave. There’s a lot of Clea/Stephen in them.

Tbh. the way I conceptualize Gisemet owes a lot to the Stranges. Especially Scion!Hades. The arrogant all powerful sorcerer of eld being absolutely bowled over by a very powerful sorceress who loves him dearly but has no tolerance for his bullshit is my fave. There’s a lot of Clea/Stephen in them.
gisemet is probably the most unabashedly shamelessly “cheesy” ship I have, which is one of (many) reasons I don’t often share it—I’m one of those who is roundly mocked for ~woobifying~ villains but give me a bitter grieving immortal and the reincarnation of their lost love and I lose it every time.

gisemet is probably the most unabashedly shamelessly “cheesy” ship I have, which is one of (many) reasons I don’t often share it—I’m one of those who is roundly mocked for ~woobifying~ villains but give me a bitter grieving immortal and the reincarnation of their lost love and I lose it every time.
I don’t talk a lot abt gisemet (or at all really) bc people are just relentlessly cruel about it on all sides in a way that makes me feel really awful so it’s a ship I basically keep to myself. but I really, really love them and they make me very happy.

I literally just said this yesterday but Gisemet is very much informed by the Stranges lmao. Gistinien otoh has a lot of Phèdre/Joscelin. On paper it shouldn’t work bc they’re so different but it’s magical. Giszenos has a lot more Spuffy DNA than I’d care to admit. But there’s Xena/Ares in it too.
