This short story collection did not grab me as much as the main series. A little backstory, a little twilight zone, a little horror. I skimmed some…felt like it focused more on the bad-acting aspects of the scythes without the counterbalance of the good.

If only western culture was underpinned with a religious text that has *a lot* to say about specifically the circumstances under which we are obliged to allow the less fortunate to take gleanings.

The only periodical to actually report properly on what was going on was, ironially, "Gleanings In Bee Keeping". The Wrights, annoyed with the press since the Kitty Hawk "coverage", and concerned about patents, were not in a rush to announce. They planned, however to do so spectacularly.
