#glimmermark Session 64. sometimes I have to feel sorry for the NPCs in this campaign. all the players are experienced, so they have to deal with PCs that are way ahead of them.

Today they descended into Castle Dyson again to get their equipment back from the elementalist cult, only to find the […]

Glimmermark session 63: oh boy, they nearly got themselves a TPK. They ventured under the goblin castle again, fought with a few elemental culists, then descended into the grand temple of the elemental princes. The local vicar was a bit of a challenge with flying boots and all that, but they […]

ah yes, Glimmermark session 62 yesterday: they ventured back into level 6 of Castle Dyson, trying to find the connection to the elementalist temple they found before.
That level proved to be a challenge, with them encountering a mimic, two groups of elementalists, a poison gas trap, and an […]

Glimmermark Session 59: a game of Chainmail for once, the PCs and their troops against one of the local robber knight and his bandits (played by @lkh).

Unfortunately for the bandits the PCs had the better archers, and dominated the battle. The only standout was a […]

Glimmermark Session 58. Only two players today. They decided to forego the underground, and instead decided to check out a ruined city the group had found in the southeast. On the way there they saw a dragon passing over them, and hid in a forest that turned out to be full of red-hatted gnomes […]

Glimmermark session 57: after three weeks of no delves, the troglodytes had brought in outside talent and created multiple traps and ambushes together with some kobold mercenaries. The PCs managed to get around some of them, but got trapped in a room with hungry giant crab spiders, and later […]

Glimmermark session 56: they went down to the troglodyte cave again and tried to defeat the tribe that lived there. In between they met mostly inconsequential random encounters... and a giant leech that just dropped on them.
The fight with the stinky lizards was tough, although nobody really […]

Glimmermark session 55: they decided against any of the other locations and tried to get to where the troglodytes lived under the castle.
In between they met a shadow that nearly scared them off because attempts at Turn Undead were unsuccessful with increasingly good dice results. (shadows are […]

dang, I misread the monster stats. giant leeches just drain blood, they don't regenerate.

well, they didn't use to, the ones in the Glimmermark now do.

Glimmermark session 54: oh wow, the dice didn't like them today, they didn't even manage to get to the level they wanted to investigate without 4 encounters, then later fought a giant leech ("these things regenerate?") and got waylaid by a giant lizard on the way back. Didn't help that they also […]

oh, I haven't posted about my Glimmermark game two days ago: we had a death of one of the NPC henchmen. They were exploring the caverns under the Keep a bit more, and came across a giant toad that grabbed one of the hobbits with a tongue.

so yesterday we had Glimmermark Session 52, which coincidentally also was the end of year 2 of the campaign.
This means that on average we played every two weeks, which is the most regular game I have ever managed.

There was really not much special that was actually happening in the session […]

Glimmermark session 48: they pulled the connection card to get into the sewers of the Keep again, trudged around a bit there, then went exploring in the cave system underneath. They found one troglodyte (but didn't recognize it as such), destroyed an undead monstrosity, then got attacked by […]

Glimmermark session 48: a random rumor made them investigate the sewers of the fortress, where after some rather uneventful poking around they heard footsteps.

Further poking uncovered a secret passage leading to (from what they found) two further secret passages into a store room, and […]

Ah yes, Glimmermark session 47: my players carefully managed to investigate the city ruins in the swamp they managed to discover last time, trying to find the despoiled temple of Chthon. This involved first having to find some boats to get there.

(Mind you, they could have walked through the […]

Glimmermark session 45: first time since 2024 then dared to go further down into Castle Dyson. That is, after finding the goblin castle encroached by rather nasty undead at night.

(Which they caused but they don't know that)

A fight with gargoyles turned out to be much more difficult than they […]

Session 44 of #glimmermark, they decided to deal with the necromancers in the caves, unfortunately (fortunately?) they had instigated the doom of those last month, when they opened a bolted door and just left it open without investigating that much further. The wight that had been locked in that […]

My roleplaying stats for 2025:

* played in 9 games on Grenzland (Dolmenwood and the Montag in Zuerich games which were largely […]

After a largely successful stealthy approach they got into a fight with the hobgoblins (the PCs […]

Glimmermark session 37: they tried to deal with more parts of the Caves of Chao... sorry, the Stygian Caves, only to run into a group of hobgoblins that gave them more trouble than usual (purely luck of the dice), and then they found the caves fortified by multiple hobgoblin tribes and undead […]

Glimmermark session 36: they found the treasure of the Tomb of the Serpent Kings. Despite being really careful they also managed to run into a pit trap that collapsed only on the 5th person in.
