Didn’t start on Sphene’s book until today because Kyle needed more time with the vector. This was something he volunteered to do last year (he loves working with leather) but it got put on hold when our order queue got busy. I cut/engraved with our glowforge and luckily didn’t mess it up 🙏🏻

How big of a piece of leather? I’m pretty sure my glowforge aura can cut leather a couple millimeters thick, but it has a max size of 12 inches square

I had the larger Glowforge Pro and didn't have issues with it. This unit seems to hit all three of your points, although I have not used this model myself.

Due to questionable decision by management, I have a Glowforge Aura at work. It can cut or engrave leather and wood, and it exhausts through a dryer-like duct. The software is fairly easy if you have SVGs you can import.

I just took a class at the library on the Glowforge. We were using the Pro model but the cheapest one they sell is about $700 and will cut up to 1/4” leather, wood, MDF, acrylic, etc. it’s enclosed and has a vent. The 2 caveats were that it CANNOT be used to cut PVC (toxic) or engrave most metals.

I've got a Glowforge, it cuts 1/8" wood/acrylic nicely (I mostly use it for leather). It'll start to struggle at 1/4" thick. I got it in the initial 2016 batch, and have been impressed with how reliable it's been, very few repairs needed. There's more options out there now that I don't know as well.

Really earnestly trying to finish Tifa before FanX in a week and a half

It's a laser cutter A piece of EVA foam laser engraved to look like a small bit of plate armor on Tifa's glove. The foam is white, but I'll paint it to look metal.
