Saw a comment wondering about any descendants and it got me wondering what Gmerl would be doing. Enter Millie the Rabbit, caretaker of a Chao Garden in the desert. An ambush led to Gmerl being captured, and now the rabbit heads to the Egg Dome to rescue her family’s caretaker.

My friend always saw Gmerl as a butler for Cream and Vanilla, so I drew that idea.

Where dimps honored the originals and made excelent gameplay additions and improvements, sega only catered to popularity and nostalgia and pointed fingers for their failures.

They have rights to Gmerl, Mecha Sonic, Metal 3.0 and Chaos sonic. They do not have rights to use Shard. Shards tied up in multiple archie creators, so while there's a chance some obscure characters will drop. For shard, you'll have to settle for one of his four successors.

but yeah i can live without him is it sad that he'll never see the light of day again yeah but Mk II and Gmerl a defiently 2 sides of his coin that could off been filled by him but i think Mk II and Gmerl have thier own marits and arnt just Shard Scessors or shard clones, though it would be neet.

Shard is one of the ones not owned by Penders only the power gem in his chest is witch is potenitaly destroyed along with him at the same time Sega Mandated that they only have one metal sonic witch is one of the resons shard goes from mecha to metal back to mecha, Gmerl was his reboot replacement

her, marine and gmerl are probably the only modern sonic character that are legit missing from crossworlds

Ik Battle is considered canon cus Gmerl exists... But.... I feel the Canonicity is just that. No one transfers the greater questions into following sonic canon and black doom inventing shadow... But not Emerl... Which made more sense... Suck

I know the fandom hates her, but I have a soft spot for the "obscure forgotten Sonic characters" like her and Emerl, Gmerl, Gamma, Mephilis, Shade, Honey, Cosmo...
