All of my characters start with a strong screeching vibe rather than an accent? Maybe? All my accents wander quite well.
When someone ran Goblonia for me at Contingency they did all sorts of beautiful regional accents including a strong John Lennon. So I favour a broad range.

Goblonia has an entire museum district to the city. But each museum is dedicated to one specific thing. So there might be a museum of footwear, which is really just a giant pile of shoes. Or a museum of cheeses, which is a single slice of every cheese they can find (and keep from being eaten...)

3. Goblonia. Goblins live forever unless decapitated. The ruling elven class loves decapitating goblins, but unless they do, you're going to find some way to screw them over. As much rogues as revolutionaries but a lot of fun & more depth than you'd think .

one thing i struggle with when playing tabletop rpgs (particularly one shots) is trying to take decisive action to move the story along and then someone else at the table going, "no no no, wait. let's discuss this" and then there's a short, 3-4 min conversation about how to optimally act

You should check out Goblonia. It's only you vs. an opposing faction but it characterizes each claim as separate districts in the city and there are modifiers to how easy/hard it is for each faction to infiltrate based on its purpose.

One of my favorite rules is in Goblonia if you catch your players making plans you immediately and visibly tick the Doom Clock up then give them five minutes and if they're still planning you tick it up again.
The thing I despise most in a TTRPG—more than "immersion," even—is when people play defensively, which is to say they don't do anything if it's even remotely dangerous for their character. It's especially galling in my games, *since your character literally cannot be killed unless you agree to it.*

I think as a writer/designer, you need to be bold enough to present the players with a situation that demands they respond to it. The dichotomy between games with explicit ideological villains like Spire, Puppetland, and Goblonia vs ones where villains exist for the sake of existing.
