Sometimes it’s good just to sink into the world according to Ray Davies. This evening it’s a night of the Kinks and solo Ray, starting with this cracker. #thekinks #raydavies #misfits #godsavethekinks

Note: "Boomers" are not a homogeneous group! TWO DECADES & a cultural revolution divided us by class, education, geography, political beliefs & life goals & lifestyle.
And DEFINITELY NOT EVERYONE listened to the same music! EVER!

Spinning The Kinks’ Schoolboys in Disgrace, their last in a series of concept albums and their last album in RCA. This album doesn’t get talked about much but it is worth a listen, particularly side 2. #GodSaveTheKinks

Guess it’s a Kinks day. This is my favourite of the later albums. #thekinks #wordofmouth #godsavethekinks

Probably ties with Arthur as their best album, depends what day of the week it is! It is just superb from start to finish. It’s a whole world in an album. #godsavethekinks

The Kinks, “Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire)” released 50 years ago today. Nice story on the original press kit from Reprise Records: https://wimwords.com/2014/08/15/from-the-stacks-the-kinks-arthur-press-kit/ #GodSaveTheKinks
