The fire was reported shortly after 1 pm on Thursday (local time) at a triangular-shaped, gassho-style (合掌造り) farmhouse in Nanto that serves as a museum on the production of a key gunpowder ingredient. No one was injured, according to the local police and fire department.

The scene showcases the traditional gasshō-zukuri (steeply pitched, thatched-roof) farmhouses. These architectural marvels, designed to withstand the region's exceptionally heavy winter snowfalls without the use of metal nails, serve as a timeless backdrop. On the left, a delicate cherry blossom tree in soft white bloom signals the arrival of spring. In the foreground, the roadway becomes a stage for the Mukade Shishi (Centipede Lion) dance, a highly unique regional variation of the traditional shishimai (lion dance). Unlike the more common two-person lion dances found elsewhere in Japan, the Mukade Shishi features a long, undulating blue fabric body patterned with white circular crests, held aloft and animated by a long line of performers marching in perfect unison. This serpentine form is led by a glistening, gold-accented shishigashira (lion head) mask designed to ward off evil spirits, bring good health, and ensure a bountiful harvest for the mountain community. Adding a playful and festive energy to the procession, a group of young children march ahead of the great beast. Dressed in striking, bright red-and-gold ceremonial tunics and traditional patterned trousers, they wear voluminous, shaggy white wigs that mimic the wild manes of guardian spirits. Holding decorated rattles and wooden sticks, they lead the majestic lion through the village.

This is Caoèn é Drenelle, where Torius was raised and where he and Zeyla met. I'm more of a #writer than an artist, but I like visualizing things from my books however I can, including #Minecraft builds.
Caoèn (a small, family village) é (of) Drenelle (the family name) as I built in Minecraft. The head house of é Drenelle where Torius, his brother, and parents lived. A house from Gokayama, Japan on which I loosely based é Drenelle's architecture. Photographer was possibly Skye Hohmann; I'm new to looking up these things. Zeyla and Tory being cute together.
