A white dove flaps at the outside of a window, causing great consternation to two women spinning as they recognise it as a portent of the death of Sir John of Oxenham. 9 THE WHITE DOVE OF OXENHAM (Devonshire) The portents peculiar to some old families are a heritage from those more hazardous days when the Spanish Main, with its lure of gold and adventure, awoke the rover in the breast of many a fine fellow. John of Oxenham, of Drake's Goodlie Company, was one of these. At Oxenham House, the ancestral home of the Oxenhams, the coming of a white-breasted dove was the woeful omen connected with the absent head of the house. Suddenly it would appear fluttering at a window, stilling spindle and wheel, to vanish as suddenly as it had come.

I'm so tired of these ultra-rich white men (and that's the majority) saying how amazing it will be, and then how we need to be very careful as it could destroy us. They are playing both sides.

The negative senses of "fulsome" (disgusting, offensive, etc.) are very much a central part of the complex history of this word and its usage—so much so that since the 1950s, language mavens have criticized people for using the word in a non-pejorative sense. The history is sort of a mess!
From American Heritage Dictionary: fulsome adj. 1. Excessively flattering or insincerely earnest. See Synonyms at unctuous. 2. Disgusting or offensive: "With the stink of decaying corpses so near her cave ... suddenly she felt overpowered by the fulsome reek" (Tean Auel). 3. Usage Problem Copious or abundant.
