They must have changed something on the backend. Both uBlock and my VPN were up, so no ads came through. But that googlevideo component is where ads live.

Today I saw weird slowdowns and complete stops on LibreWolf a Firefox based browser while looking at YouTube. I switched over to Ungoogled Chromium and it was not having any issues.

So I did one simple thing, for the first time in a decade I unblocked googlevideo and everything started working.
